The Renewable Energy Research Group at Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University can apply for tuition waiver for excellent Ph.D students.

 

We are striving to provide excellent environment for research and encourage those who would like to carry out high-quality research in the areas of power system, power electronics and electrical machine. We are also very happy to host academic visitors and research fellowships. Our group’s research focuses on efficient energy production based on renewable energy sources and optimal use of energy for various purposes. The group has strong cooperation with academic research institutions and industrial companies worldwide.

 

New Ph.D. positions are available for highly-motivated students with a strong research background and capability. For each research field, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

 

· A Master degree in engineering, mathematics, or related fields is preferred, though outstanding undergraduate students will also be considered;

· Strong mathematical background and proficient skills in modelling and simulation in a programming environment, such as Matlab;

· Previous research experiences in related fields and scientific publications in journals/conferences are preferred;

· Excellent communication skills and good writing skills.

 

In addition, we hope the candidates have strong interests and/or previous research experience in either one of the following fields:

1.7.  Intelligent fault diagnosis of large-scale wind power systems

1.8.  Grid integration of offshore wind farms

1.9.  Design and planning of renewable energy systems

 

2.     Power Systems

2.1.  Large scale wind farm integration into power systems

2.2.  Artificial intelligent technology in modern power system

2.3.  Smart renewable electricity market

2.4.  Operation and control of modern power system

2.5.  Intelligent distribution system

2.6.  Power system stability and protection
